Cork senior hurlers got off to a winning start in the national league on Saturday 11th February with a home win over Clare,  with Anthony Nash in fine form and Lorcain Mc Loughlin getting game time in the closing stages. Next up for the Rebels is a home game with Dublin on Saturday 18th February at Pairc Ui Rinn 7pm.
Meanwhile Cork footballers for their part came unstuck going down to Kildare at Newbriday on Sunday 12th February with John Mc Loughlin and Aidan Walsh seeing game time. Cork now have one league point from two games played and will need to win their remaining encounters if they are to retain any hopes of gaining promotion to division one.
