Kanturk Intermediate Hurlers day of destiny is now at hand. On Sunday 14th October, all roads lead to Cork and Pairc Ui Rinn for the Cork County Intermediate Hurling final with Kanturk facing North Cork side Kilworth at 3.45pm. Kanturk recovered from an opening round defeat to Argideen Rangers to record victories over Eire Og, Dromina, Fr O'Neill and Charleville to claim a final place. Kilworth for their part despatched Dromina, Fermoy and Argideen Rangers to reach the final. When both sides met in the 4th round of the championship in 2011 at Milford, Kanturk recorded a 1 point victory. On that occassion Kilworth were short a few first team players who had travelled abroad. With their returning stars now on board, Kilworth will be favourites to take the title on Sunday, but Kanturk can be expected to battle all the way to the end as they bid to defy the odds and bring the county championship title to the capital of Duhallow on Sunday evening.
