Intermediate Hurlers Face Championship Test

Kanturk Intermediate Hurlers face a daunting task as they line out against Argideen Rangers in the first round of the Cork county championship when they travel to Coachford on this Saturday 26th May for a 7.30pm start. Kanturk's preprations have been mixed with a moral boosting league win over Milford on Thursday last 17th May on a 2-19 to 2-12 score line. Then on Sunday last Kanturk came crashing down when suffering a league defeat away to Charleville on a 2-07 to 1-19 score line.
Argideen Rangers were relegated from the Premier Intermediate grade last year but the experience gained in that grade over the past number of years will stand them in good stead. Kanturk for their part will hope to reach the heights of last years championship campaign which saw them gain stirring victories over Dromina & Kilworth before bowing out to St Catherine's at the quarter final stage.
At Juvenile level, Kanturk U13 footballers suffered defeat in both the Rebel Og North championship final and the league semi final. In the championship we came second best to Thomas Russells on a 2-2 to 9-17 score line and in the League semi final, Boherbue got the better of our lads on a 1-19 to 2-08 score line.
There was better luck for the U12 footballers who defeated Charleville by 2-23 to 2-04 and the under 14 hurlers were victorious over Fermoy by 5-18 to 1-05, reversing their feila na ngael defreat of earlier in the year.
