Kanturk Intermediate hurlers wrapped up their championship preprations with an away league win against Blackrock on Sunday 26th August at Church Road taking the league points on offer on a 1-17 to 0-16 score line. This will be a boost as the team prepare to face the stiff challenge posed by Dromina in their upcoming Cork IHC Round 4 tie which is down for decision at Ballyhea on Friday 31st August with a 6pm start. Kanturk opened their championship with an unexpected and disappointing defeat to Argideen Rvs, before bouncing back with a moral boosting victory over Eire Og in round 2 in June at Mallow. Dromina lost their opening two championship games before getting the better of Drispsey in round 3. When the sides met in the championship last year, Kanturk came out on top at Milford, but can expect a very strong challenge from the North Cork side with a prize for the winners being a place in the championship quarter finals against Fr O'Neills.
