Kanturk Intermediate hurlers overcame the Charleville challenge in round 4 of the Cork IHC at Milford on Saturday 17th August thanks mainly to some top class saves by Cork netminder, Anthony Nash in the opening quarter which kept the north Cork side's challenge at bay. It was score for score throughout the game and when Charleville went two points clear in the last few minutes, it looked as though they might take the spoils, but Kanturk showed great resolve and were level on 60 minutes, and deep into injury time, Lorcain Mc Loughlin produced a winning point to send Kanturk into the quarter finals and a tilt with Meelin.
