Kanturk Junior footballers qualified for their 3rd Duhallow final in a row with an uninspiring 0-11 to 0-06 point win over Knocknagree on Sunday 4th September. The strong win didnt help matters and a good safe from Kanturk keeper, Mark Healy before the interval insured we went in leading by 1pt at the break. To dour contest continued to be close throughout the second half until Kanturk kicked the points which gave them saftey and a place in the Duhallow final for the 3rd time in a row and set up a meeting with Rockchapel which is a repeat of the 2009 decider which saw Kanturk bridge a 47yr gap.
U14's lose Co Final;
Kanturk U14 footballers had to give 2nd best as they lost out to a much stronger Glenville side in the Rebel Og, Cork U14'A'F final played at Mallow on Saturday last 3rd September on a 2-17 to 2-06 score line.
Minor Hurlers come up short;
Kanturk Minor hurlers fell short in their attempt to win North region Championship honours as Fermoy proved too strong in the final played at Ballyhea on Thursday last 1st Sept losing on a 14pt to 11pt score line.
