On the 3rd of March 2013. Kanturk and Rockchapel renewed rivalries but this time it was in the Cork County Football League Division 4. The rivalry between the two sides had been an intriguing one over the years and always brought great games and a terrific atmosphere. However in recent years the rivalry has grown to such that both sides met in two Duhallow Junior Football Championship finals in three years. Kanturk running out narrow winners on both occasions. On the second occasion Kanturk advanced to gain county honors and move up to Intermediate grade. Rockchapel followed suit and a year later got their hands on the Duhallow and Cork County cups to also move into the Intermediate grade.
To mark the occasion of Rockchapel and Kanturk playing their league game in Intermediate no gate was taken but instead  both clubs organised a collection to raise Money for Kanturk Community Hospital and Night Nurse Pallitive Care. Both clubs hoped that the novel fixture of the last two county champions and local rivals would draw a big crowd. Both clubs together on the day raised $800 and added a further €100 each to bring the total to €1,000. Cheques totalling €500 each were presented to both organisations. Great community spirit and was shown by both clubs and just goes to show that even with great footballing rivalries can produce much needed funds for great organisations! Thank you to everyone that helped collect the money and also to everyone that gave so generiously!
